LG Fridge Error Codes

Error codes are signals from your unit that it needs your attention, it display as letters and are found on digital control panels. The error may display differently on some units depending on the model.

The most common errors will appear starting with either “ER”, “E” or “r”.

OFF Your LG refrigerator is equipped with a DEMO MODE or DISPLAY MODE . This feature disables all cooling in the refrigerator and freezer sections to conserve energy while on display in a retail store. When DEMO MODE is activated, OF F  will appear on the control panel.
IS/1S IS or 1S error code indicates a problem with the ice maker fan motor or a disconnection of the icemaker sensor.
22 A 22 error code indicates a problem with compressor relay.
67 A 67 error code indicates a problem with a gap in the door or an object inside the fridge restricting the door from closing properly.
CF A CF error code indicates that the feedback signal is less than 65 seconds during the fan’s operation. This refers to the fan at the back, bottom of the refrigerator that discharges heat from the condenser.
CO A CO error code on the display of the refrigerator indicates a communication error between the control board and the display.
dH A dH error code indicates that the unit spent more than 1 hour trying to defrost . During defrost; the unit will increase the temperature at the evaporator to a preset temperature. If this temperature is not reached within 1 hour, the dH error code will display.
dS

A dS error code indicates a short or disconnection of the defrosting sensor. This error can display in three variations depending on the model of your unit.

F dS  indicates a problem with the freezer defrost sensor.

r dS indicates a problem with the refrigerator defrost sensor.

FF A FF error code indicates that the unit has detected an issue with the freezer fan. This can sometimes be caused by frost buildup.
FS A FS  error code indicates a short or disconnection of the freezer sensor.
gF A gF error code indicates a flow sensor error, or low water pressure. If your ice maker is overfilling with water, the flow sensor that determines how much water is flowing to the ice maker may be malfunctioning. If the water pressure is low, partially increase the water pressure. If the error persists, the unit will require a repair service. 
HS A HS error code indicates a short or disconnection of humidity.
IF/F1 The IF or F1  error code indicates that the refrigerator has detected a problem with the refrigerator’s ice maker fan. This can sometimes occur when frost or ice buildup occurs around the ice maker fan.
iT An iT error code indicates a defect in the icemaker.
rF A rF error code indicates an abnormality in the refrigerator’s fan motor. This may be due to frost buildup.
rT a rT error code indicates a shortened or open room temperature sensor.
Ad An Ad error code displays when the door motor does not move to maximum position  or home position within 5 seconds.
dL A dL error code displays when the door motor does not move to maximum position or home position within 5 seconds.
AS/ LAS/ rAS This error code displays when the auto door motor is in operation, and the reed switch is in open state.
dr a dr  error code displays when the door motor does not move to maximum position  or home position within 5 seconds.
Sb  This error code may look like Sb, S6, 5b,or 56 on the screen. Sb typically means Sabath mode which is used on the Jewish Sabath and holidays.To turn off sabath mode manually, press and hold the Freezer and Wifi buttons for 3 seconds.To turn Sabath mode on, touch the display to activate it, then press and hold the Freezer and Wi-Fi buttons for 3 seconfs until Sb appears on the display.Sabath mode automatically turns off after 96 hours. Selecting the sabath mode automatically turns off the alarm functions and the dispenser is also disabled.
Od A Od indicates a WIFI  Modem or communication error between the micom of the LCD display and the WiFi modem.
C1 A C1 error code indicates a communication error between the micom of LCD display and the dispenser.
IF/F1 The IF or F1 error code indicates that the refrigerator has detected a problem with the refrigerator’s ice maker fan. This can sometimes occur when frost or ice buildup occurs around the ice maker fan.

Bosch Fridge Error Codes

E01 Refrigerator compartment temperature sensor is defective, Unplug the refrigerator and reconnect any loose connections on the wire harness on the temperature sensor for the refrigerator compartment, which is in the upper right corner of the refrigerator. Replace the wire harness if damaged. If the wire harness connection is okay, replace the refrigerator compartment temperature sensor.
E02 Freezer compartment temperature sensor is defective, Unplug the refrigerator and reconnect any loose connections on the wire harness on the temperature sensor for the freezer. Replace the wire harness if damaged. If the wire harness connection is okay, replace the freezer compartment temperature sensor.
E03 Temperature-controlled drawer temperature sensor is defective, Unplug the refrigerator and remove the temperature-controlled refrigerator drawer. The temperature sensor is on the right side of the refrigerator compartment liner. Remove the sensor cover reconnect any loose connections on the wire harness on the temperature sensor for the drawer. Reconnect the wire harness if loose. Replace the wire harness if damaged. If the wire harness is okay, replace the temperature controlled drawer temperature sensor.
E15 Ambient temperature sensor is defective, The ambient temperature sensor is an internal component of the display control module. Unplug the refrigerator for 3 minutes to reset the display control module. If the E15 code returns you restore power, replace the display control module.
E10 Main control board module is defective, Unplug the refrigerator for 3 minutes to reset the main control board module. If the E10 code returns after you restore electrical power, replace the main control board module.
E11 Display control module is defective, Unplug the refrigerator for 3 minutes to reset the display control module. If the E11 code returns after you restore electrical power, replace the display control module.
E20 Communication error between the main control board module and the display control module, Unplug the refrigerator and reconnect any loose connections on the wire harness for the main control board module and the display control module. Replace the wire harness if damaged. Check the main control board module and display control module for burnt spots on the circuit boards or visible damage. Replace the main control board module or display control module if damaged.
E21

Communication error between display control module and the ice and water dispenser control module, Unplug the refrigerator and reconnect any loose connections on the wire harness on the display control module and the ice and water dispenser control module. Replace the wire harness if damaged. Check the display control module and ice and water dispenser control module for burnt spots on the circuit boards or visible damage. Replace the display control module or ice and water dispenser control module if damaged.

GE Fridge Error Codes

A flashing green error, fault or function code will be displayed on the control panel when a failure has been detected. This will be accompanied by a beep. Here is a list of error, fault and function codes and what they mean.

CC Check the temperature controls as the temperature for the refrigerator is not correct.
CI Refrigerator/Freezer Condition = Ice maker not working properly
Repair or Check = Clear jammed ice cubes from the ice mold. If the ice mold isn’t filling with water, turn back on the water supply to the ice maker. If you turned off the water intentionally, also turn off the ice. Press the System Check button to clear the error code and check for other system failures. 
DF Refrigerator/Freezer Condition = No current flow through the defrost circuit in 48 hours
Repair or Check = Check defrost heater, defrost thermostat and the defrost timer. Press the System Check button to clear the error code.
dE Refrigerator/Freezer Condition = Defrost system error
Repair or Check = The defrost cycle has not run for more than 48 hours. Unplug the refrigerator and reconnect any loose wires in the defrost system. Replace the wire harness if needed. Replace the defrost heater if it is damaged. It may be normal for the refrigerator to operate without defrosting for more than 48 hours when operating in an area that’s below 55F degrees. Reset the code by pressing the System Check button.
FF Refrigerator/Freezer Condition = Check frozen foods for thawing
Repair or Check = Freezer temperature has been above normal for more than 2 hours. Make sure that the refrigerator and freezer doors are closed. Replace the door gaskets if needed. Press the System Check button to clear the error code and check for other system failures. If the PF code appears, then the FF code, this was likely caused by a power failure. Keep the refrigerator and freezer doors closed as much as possible to allow the interior temperatures to come back to normal.
PF The power to the refrigerator has been out from a power outage or similar.
tC If the temperature display shows a tC (could look like an EC, an upside down F with a C), this is not an error code, it is the Turbo Cool (tC) setting.
tF

If the temperature display shows a tF (Could look like an EF, an upside down F with an F), this is not an error code, it is the Turbo Freeze (tF) setting.

88 or 89

Refrigerator/Freezer Condition = Possible power surge/electrical issue.
Repair or Check = Clear the display by unplugging the refrigerator for 5 minutes and then plugging it back in. The control board may have experienced a power surge.

E2

Refrigerator/Freezer Condition = Main control board error
Repair or Check = Check wire harness to Main control board

HRS

Refrigerator/Freezer Condition = Unit stuck in Defrost

Flashing 6

The 6th Sense technology is activated – If you put warm food in the refrigerator or leave the door open, the 6th Sense technology kicks on to return the refrigerator to the set temperature. The flashing 6 should go away once it gets back to the right temperature.

Sub Zero Fridge Error Codes

EC40

EC-40 and Service Flashing on control panel.

Solution:

Press and hold the door ajar alarm key for 15 seconds to clear the code
If the error persists, then there is an issue with the refrigerator.

EC50

Refrigerator Excessive Compressor Running.

Solution:

Press and hold the door ajar alarm key for 15 seconds to clear the code
If the error persists, then there is an issue with the refrigerator.

EC21 EC24

Defrost Functionality Issue.

Solution:

  1. Clean the condenser.
  2. Press and hold the door alarm key for 15 seconds to clear the error code.
  3. If EC Service light appears, or temperatures rise contact service for repair.
EE

Refrigerator compartment thermistor fault.

Solution:

  1. To clear the error code press Alarm ON/OFF key for 15 seconds.
  2. If the error code returns contact appliance technician.
